Highlights of weekly weather and crop bulletin, W31 (30TH July to 5th August, 2012)
Central parts of the country received light to moderate rainfall during the last week, the highest amount recorded at Sialkot as 130 mm.
Highest temperatures (above 40°C) recorded mainly in the region between Punjab, Sindh & Balochistan as well as in western Balochistan.
Mainly hot & humid weather is expected in most parts of the country except Kashmir & Gilgit Baltistan region during the first half the week.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunder/shower expected in upper half of the country throughout the week.

Cotton/Sugarcane: Farmers of cotton belt are advised to manage irrigation practices as per prediction of monsoon rains during the week.
General Information: Farmers of rainfed areas, obtaining crop water through tube wells are advised to schedule the irrigation according to the expected weather mentioned above during the week. It is advised to ensure field sanitation and spray prophylactic fungicidal sprays to prevent spread of diseases on vegetables, as there is forecast for light to moderate rainfall during the week. Also farmers are advised to keep control on post-harvesting losses due to pests/insects & hot/moist monsoon season.
