ISLAMABAD: The Sindh government, in collaboration with China, plans to set up an Agriculture Demonstration Zone at Tandojam with an aim to introduce local farmers with new agriculture techniques, an official of the Planning Commission.

The official said that the introduction of new system would result in improvement of their current cultivation pattern and marketing system of their produce.

“We have carved out a strategy for the agriculture sector aiming to ensure food security, providing economic returns to growers and reducing poverty in rural areas,” he said and added that the proposed project is in line with objectives and is expected to improve existing cultivation and marketing system ultimately resulting into higher incomes for growers.

The official said that the Sindh government has submitted programme component-II of the project seeking approval of feasibility study on the proposed project.
