KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organised the Pakistan Mango Show in Minsk, Belarus on July 15-16, 2016 to promote Pakistani mango exports.
Government officials, diplomats, importers, wholesalers and media persons were invited to the show, which was held in a five-star hotel.
A delegation of two leading mango exporters was also sent by the TDAP for participating in the exhibition, said a press release on Monday.
Fresh mangoes, mango juice, mango shakes and other mango recipes were served during lunch. A video documentary on Pakistan’s mangoes was shown and brochures and newsletters, carrying vital information, were also distributed. Each guest was presented with 2kg of mangoes.
On July 16, the show was organised in two leading shopping centres of Minsk – Stolitsa and Zamak. Both the shopping centres had a high attendance during the mango festival.
The display area was decorated with publicity and promotion material pertaining to mangoes from Pakistan as well as LED screens that showed documentaries. Mango tasting by chefs was also organised.
The importers showed great interest in Pakistani mangoes and the exporters addressed several inquiries for export of the fruit to Belarus.
They were hopeful that the demand for Pakistani mangoes would rise in the country and, from next season, export of the fruit would begin.
