BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Mahmood stated that the provincial government has announced a new policy that would help increase economic well-being of the farmers.
Addressing at the commissioner office, the secretary said that the new policy targets to increase the efficiency of agriculture sector with the help of financial and technical intervention, thus helping farmers earn profits.
He said that the process of electronic registration of the farmers is already underway at all land record centres, adding that this would help farmers in acquiring interest-free loans of Rs 60,000 through easypaisa outlets.
The secretary also stated that the government is keeping a tight check and balance on loans and credit history to help streamline the entire loan system across the province.
