LAHORE: Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board in its annual report said that the board increased its milk production from five liters per animal to 8.4 liters per animal at its Livestock Experiment Station in Khizerabad.
The annual progress report for 2016 stated that PLDDB has launched 60kg silage bale project for 90% small farmers and the silage has approached across Punjab through distribution network, the silage from Punjab was also reached to Karachi and Peshawar. The board also started the Fodder Research & Development Cell to add the value in crop residues available in all districts of Punjab, the raw and low cost stuff will be converted into high value feeding ration. To accelerate the progress of development projects, PLDDB has signed agreement with the organizations including Engro Foods for the sales and marketing of silage project in Southern Punjab, to sign the concession agreement with ICI for the operation of Genetic Improvement Centre of Khizerabad for the production of quality semen.
