Mango Exposition in 1st week of July

The Horticulture Foundation of Pakistan (HFP) is likely to hold 17th National Mango and summer Fruits Exposition on 7 and 8 July here.

The purpose of the show is to highlight country’s superior quality mangoes and help enhance their exports besides underlining the importance of utilizing modern technologies in packing to compete in the world markets.

There is need to present the country’s produce in accordance with international standards and procedures besides keeping in view the demand and consumers’ preferences abroad, HFP sources said.

The moot is being held at a time when importers in `singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong have shown interest in importing Shindhri, Samar Behishet, Chonsa and Began Pali varieties of Mango, while Japan, European countries, USA and China were also potential markets that needed to be explored.

The HFP has invited all stakeholders including producer, processor, exporter, consumer, prospective importers and expertise community in the capital city to participate in the exposition for the promotion of summer fruits.

On the occasion, mango varieties and value added products of leading fruit processing industries would be displayed besides the important fruits ripening during summer months would also be accommodated in the show.
