LAHORE: A seven-member committee has been constituted on district level by the City District Government Lahore on Monday to buy wheat from farmers.
The committee would decide to establish the points for purchasing of wheat across the city. Spokespersons said that the committees have been constituted on district and tehsil levels in order to keep a check on the process and make transparent of wheat purchasing.
He said that District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Muhmmad Usman would be the secretary of district committee that comprised of Capital City Police Officer Lahore Muhammad Amin Vanis, Muhammad Jahangir, Muhammad Shahbaz Ahmed and Muhammad Ishrat Bhalar.
Assistant commissioners (ACs) of respective area would perform as secretaries of tehsil level committee whereas concerned superintendent of police, agriculture field assistant, food controller assistant and representative of farmers would be members of the committee.
