Govt decides to continue ban on export of onions

The government has decided to continue with the ban on export of the onion, but opened a small window by allowing transhipment of a southern variety which is consumed in limited quantity. After a meeting of Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on Food, Commerce and Industry minister Anand Sharma told reporters that the Ban on onion export will continue.
