ISLAMABAD: National Food Security and Research Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan is attending the 33rd session of Asia Pacific Conference of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The session, scheduled from March 7-10, would formulate an international policy to face global challenges of food security and agriculture. The current session would guide the member states about the future course to meet these challenges in next fifteen years, said a statement on Tuesday.
Number of issues would likely to be discussed, which include state of food and agriculture in Asia and Pacific region. Furthermore, the results and priorities for FAO in Asia and Pacific would also be considered.
The minister would highlight agriculture and food security in Pakistan in face of global challenges along with measures taken by the government to strengthen the small farmers.
The minister would also apprise the members states about the measures taken by the government to support the youth to make country march towards hunger free nation.
